1st call for expertise (CfE 1/2016)

Nature-based Solutions to Promote Climate Resilience in Urban Areas - developing an impact evaluation framework – closed June 17th 2016. The first call for requests resulted in the selection of three new requests:

What approaches can environmental regulators use with their regulated businesses to influence the environmental sustainability of business operations and to improve outcomes for biodiversity?

Requester: Scottish Environment Protection Agency

  • Third EKLIPSE Request (Call for Expertise beginning of 2017):

Is the CAP delivering on environmental objectives and how could it be enhanced to further deliver on the sustainable management of natural resources? & What mix of land use and what level of land quality is needed in order to get a positive trend for biodiversity in agricultural landscapes?

Requester: International Union for Conservation of the Nature - IUCN Regional Office for Europe & Swedish Board of Agriculture

  • Fourth EKLIPSE Request (Call for Expertise beginning of 2017):

Which components of nature and types of natural space have a positive influence on mental health and physical health?

Requester: French Ministry of Environment

 

Call for KCB members

A call for nomination of experts in August/September 2016 has selected five new external members: Valerie Kapos (UNEP-WCMC), Petr Petřík (Institute of Botany of the CAS), Rania Spyropoulou (ATEPE-Ecosystem Management Ltd), Esther Turnhout (Wageninen University) and Sebastian Villasante (University of Santiago de Compostela). This new group completes the EKLIPSE KCB members which includes: Heidi Wittmer (UFZ), Barabara Livoreil (FRB), Lynn Dicks (University of Cambridge), Estelle Balian (RBINS) and Eeva Furman (SYKE). Dr Heidi Wittmer is the chair of the KCB. Read our two guidance notes to find out more about the KCB and how its members have been selected

 

Call for members of the Expert group on Knowledge Synthesis Methods

The task of the Expert Group on Knowledge Synthesis Methods is to provide and share knowledge about different forms, methods and limitations of knowledge collation, appraisal and synthesis so that robust evidence and knowledge gaps can be identified, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of available knowledge. The group had a first meeting on the 12/13th of October, 2016, and will produce a report by January 2016 on strengths and weaknesses of existing approaches and methodologies to jointly provide evidence, identification of potential gaps in existing approaches, and how to address these gaps. The chair of this expert group is Dr Lynn Dicks (University of Cambridge). The closing date for this call was the 10th of September 2016 [original call text].
